Meet Dr. Parker
Dr. Wenyuan Parker (née Wu) is a nationally renowned expert on education and civil rights. She has the knowledge, experience and foresight to safeguard Monroe County schools.
As a local mom with two young children (one in the school system), Dr. Parker is determined to grow MCPS’s educational excellence and resolved to fend off harmful ideological attacks on our children.

Local Mom
Dr. Parker is a Forsyth mom of two young children, one of whom is enrolled in Monroe County Public Schools. She relates to other parents in the school district, who should rightfully expect nothing but a stellar education from the school system. She has high personal stakes and deep convictions to keep our schools excellent for all students, regardless of skin color and background. She believes that public education, when done right, can uplift all children and catapult them towards success and fulfillment. She also believes in the power of meritocracy by upholding standards and fending off the soft bigotry of low expectations. With strong leadership and all-on-board dedication, MCPS students will have equal access to globally competitive K-12 education.

Strong Leadership
Dr. Parker chairs the Georgia Advisory Committee to the United States Commission on Civil Rights, a bi-partisan committee appointed to advise the State and Federal governments on civil rights issues in Georgia. She also serves on the board of Parents Defending Education Action, works as the Executive Director to an equal rights foundation, and advises Parents Defending Education. In her professional work, Dr. Parker has worked with lawmakers, scholars, advocates and activists to monitor education policies/legislation, advance equal education rights, and champion common sense education reforms.

Education Expert
Dr. Parker is a highly respected national expert in education. She has testified at the Federal Government and also in state legislatures as an expert witness, on topics such as civic education, standardized tests, school admissions, ethnic studies and critical race theory. She is on the steering committee for “American Birthright,” a civics education curriculum launched by the National Association of Scholars. Dr. Parker is also a prolific author and researcher, having published three books, many book chapters and hundreds of publications on national platforms. She has in-depth knowledge and practical knowhow to guide our local education towards best practices and excellence. Dr. Parker has been featured in the Wall Street Journal, Fox News, New York Times, National Review, and many more.

Immigrant, Strong Christian & Patriot
Dr. Parker immigrated to the United States in the 2000s and believes in the American Dream through education, grit, hard work and strong values. From her experience living abroad and her working experience here in the U.S., Dr. Parker is resolved to keep our local schools free of divisive, harmful and unamerican race/gender ideologies. As a devout born-again Christian, Dr. Parker will not shy away from working with our faith community to help individual students and families in need, regardless of race, color, ethnicity, or national origin. If elected, she will work with her colleagues to support all local teachers and district employees, retain and develop talents, and safeguard taxpayer interests.
